Techniques
The following modalities are incorporated for a custom massage every session: Acupressure - an ancient healing art using the fingers to apply varying degrees of pressure on key points to stimulate the body's natural healing
Aromatherapy - following the centuries old practice of utilizing the healing properties of essential oils which are extracted from certain varieties of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, and flowers
Deep Tissue - slow, deep work that is done with a focus on affecting several layers of tissue, releasing holding patterns in the body, relaxing and lengthening the muscles
Energy Work - science has shown that the body has an energetic field, this field can be influenced and balanced with the assistance of the massage therapist
Lymphatic - gentle, slow, deep strokes that assist the movement of lymphatic fluid which can support the overall function of the immune system, cleanse and detoxify the body
Pre-Natal & Post-Natal - improve circulation and immune function, stabilize hormone levels, reduce swelling, help alleviate morning sickness, ease joints, increase muscle tone and flexibility, prepare pelvic muscles for birth process, decrease labor pain, restore skin elasticity
Postural Assessment & Alignment - utilizing Myofascial Therapy - MFT, "myo" means muscle and "fascia" is a layer of wrapping around all muscles in the body, this technique will assist in the correction of both new and long-term postural conditions as well as issues that cause limited movement
Rocking & Shaking - gentle rocking and shaking movements to realign joints and muscle fibers, deeply relaxing
Shiatsu - a Japanese style of body work rooted in Traditional Chinese medicine, meaning "finger pressure," utilizing acupressure points
Swedish - using oil or lotion with long fluid strokes that promotes relaxation, increases circulation and decreases tension
Sports - a combination of massage styles and stretches geared towards performance enhancement, reduce soreness and chance of injury, as well as increase recovery time
